During the week you’ll find Chris Kelly, our Used Car Administrator and April Employee of the Month, all around Scott Honda, ensuring that our Certified Honda’s are stocked in, Carfax’d, and written up for the proper 150-point Honda Certification. But during the weekends this 26-year-old checks inventory of a different sort.
Chris, scours the lists at local auctions looking for some rare, one-of-a-kind bargains to add to his collection.
“I find a lot of things that I’m really drawn to, things you can’t find anywhere else,” he told us. “I just furnished my whole house pretty inexpensively!”
So how exactly does a 20-something get interested in the bargain-hunting of items older than he is?
“My dad started taking me when I was young and I’ve never stopped going!” Chris said.
So what’s the best item he’s ever found at an auction?
“Once I bought five actual photos of Abraham Lincoln.” However when asked if he had any other great finds he went the magician’s route. “You can’t tell everyone about all of your good stuff, some of it has to remain a secret.”
You may be wondering (as we were), is Chris showing the signs of a hoarder?
“I am not a hoarder, but people ask me that all the time,” he said confidently (but we still aren’t sure).
Well either way, we are proud of the work that Chris Kelly does for Scott Honda and we congratulate him on this great achievement.
“Chris comes to work to work,” says David Greaves, general sales manager. “He sets a great example for the whole team and is very deserving of this honor.”
