Imagine talking on the phone, and a person standing next to you starts trying to ask you a question, then someone else calls you on the other line, subsequently a co-worker approaches, giving you hand gestures, attempting to ask if they can borrow something random, like a piece of tape?
While you might call a situation like this stressful, Scott Honda Receptionist, Jen Lower calls it…a typical Monday morning.
It is because of her amazing ability to handle predicaments like that, with a smile and a calm tone of voice, as well as her many other great traits, that we award the January employee of the month to Jen Lower.
While Jen technically started working here as a booker 4½ years ago, because of her father, Parts Manager Tom Worthington’s long tenure with Scott Honda, Jen has essentially grown up a “Sconda Kid”.
“I was doing data entry after school when I was 14. I just always just assumed I would work at Scott Honda,” she said with a grin.
While many know of her receptionist skills, what you may not know is that Jen is an avid blogger and overall social media maven. Her blog, called MamaZEN is a must visit for parenting tips, fashion conversation, ideas for your home and help with how to raise your little ones. Jen’s Mama Zen alter ego can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.
So how does Mama Zen deal with the pressure and multi-tasking needs of manning Scott Honda’s helm in the showroom?
“It can be difficult being ‘Up’ all the time for employees and customers, but I do my best,” she says.
What she enjoys most about her position is “working out in the open, by the large windows and I also enjoy helping with the company newsletter too.”
Along with her new parking spot, gift card to a local eatery, Jen is the first to get to pick the colors of a new Sconda Pen, an added reward for EOTM winners! Look for her pink, orange and green creation coming soon!
Congratulations Jen and thank you for all the little things you do to help us steer the Scott Sailboat!
