Sconda Comments Improve Beachy Billboard: Going up Within the Week

Comparing the First and Final Draft of Beachy Billboard
The feedback we received from two faithful Sconda Blog readers was invaluable in turning this billboard idea into a billboard reality.

Tracy, a very talented graphic artist in her own right, wrote, "I love the idea! and keep the Scott Honda text but maybe make it a little darker? So it is a tad more readable?"

I took that advice and also increased the foam in the water, in addition to moving some of the shells and placing some subtle drop shadows behind portions of the Shell Sailboat in order to really maximize the images visibility.

Stephanie commented, "I think
it's awesome! Not sure about the words yet..I like what they say, just
maybe in a color that blends a little more with the sand."

So I trimmed the verbiage down by 11 characters, used a thinner more "beachy" font called Tempus Sans and added a drop shadow to really make the text stand out without taking away from the image.

I hope you like the final result because it's too late to make changes now, the billboard is being put up by Steen within the week and I can't wait to see it.

I love the final draft! I agree the darker type is better and “down the shore” is so the right saying! Great billboard!

  2. Tracy says:

LOVE it, and you are welcome Doug! :)
